Concreting Questions, Answered
The most common questions we get about driveways, slabs, patios, quotes and timing on the South Coast.
Quotes, booking and payment
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry public liability insurance.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes are free and done on site, so the price reflects your actual block.
How far ahead do I need to book?
We usually book about 4 weeks ahead, depending on workload. November and December are our busiest months, and our last pour for 2026 is 5 December.
How do I pay?
50% upfront and 50% on completion.
What areas do you service?
Shoalhaven Heads to Batemans Bay, including Nowra, Milton, Ulladulla and Mollymook.
On the day
Can you pour concrete in the rain?
We don't pour in heavy rain. Light rain can be managed with covers. If the forecast turns, we'll reschedule and let you know early.
Do I need to be home while you work?
No. We need access to the site, water and power. Many of our clients are holiday-home owners who live away.
Driveways and slabs
How long does a new driveway take?
A typical driveway takes roughly 3 days, depending on the size of the job and the weather.
When can I drive on my new driveway?
You can walk on it after about 24–48 hours. Wait at least 7 days before driving a car on it, and longer for heavy vehicles, boats or caravans.
Do you handle council approval for crossovers?
Yes. Work in the council verge usually needs Shoalhaven City Council approval, and we handle the council application for you.
How soon can building start on a new slab?
Framing can usually start after approximately 4 days.
Patios and sealing
Is exposed aggregate slippery around a pool?
No. The exposed stones give a textured surface, and we can add an anti-slip additive to the sealer.
How often should concrete be sealed?
About every 5 years.
